23nd Annual Buddy Holly ACL Kickoff
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
We’re thrilled to invite you to the 23rd annual celebration of Buddy Holly’s legacy at our ACL Festival Kickoff Party—a cornerstone Austin event dedicated to honoring the past, empowering the future, and raising critical funds for music education.
This unforgettable evening benefits two outstanding 501(c)(3) charities:
🎸 The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation
Keeping Buddy’s legacy alive by promoting music education and opportunity for young people around the world.
🤠 Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Association
Celebrating the incredible contributions of Texas songwriters to our national culture, and mentoring the next generation through its Texas Songwriter U program.
This year, we’re also raising funds to help send College of Hip Hop Knowledge (CHHK) to SXSW Sydney! This is a huge international stage for Austin’s underground hip hop community, and we’re proud to support their journey.
Founded in 2015, College of Hip Hop Knowledge is a collective of independent Austin-based artists, educators, and community leaders dedicated to preserving the core values of hip hop:
Peace. Love. Unity. Having Fun.
Their mission blends music, mentorship, and education, bridging generations and genres to uplift underserved voices in Central Texas.
They’re currently pursuing nonprofit status and preparing to launch an international artist exchange program—starting with this trip to Australia.
To make this opportunity a reality, we’re aiming to raise $10,000 to cover:
✈️ Travel
🏨 Lodging
📦 Materials & Gear
Your gift of $50–$500 (or more!) will make a real impact.
Let’s ensure Austin hip hop is represented on a global stage.
Let’s make this 23rd annual fundraiser the most impactful yet—celebrating music’s rich legacy while shaping its future.
Thank you for your support, and we can’t wait to see you there!

-Isis Destiny
With inspirations ranging from the soulful vibes of Erykah Badu to the retro charm of Donna Summer, Isis infuses her music with a kaleidoscope of influences that resonate with listeners across the globe.
"Scorpio Rising," is a testament to her dedication towards artistry, showcasing meticulously arranged songs that transport audiences to a world of sonic wonder and self reflection,.
-Marco Gutierrez & Colin Gilmore
With influences from The Flatlanders and Buddy Holly to Augustana and Jason Isbell, the West Texas Exiles are reinvigorating the music scene with a modern interpretation of the lone star vernacular. Grounded in rhythmic and lyrical honesty, the Exiles’ sound is the vastness of the West Texas sky and the energy of a world where nothing stands still for long. With three songwriters including Colin Gilmore, this band of outsiders aren’t just waltzing across Texas, they are riding into the sunset in search of new horizons "while I still got my boots on my feet." https://www.westtexasexiles.com

-Bruce Smith
No performer has graced the Safe House stage for more ferocious performances than Bruce Smith because he wails at a fever pitch, brings it all down to a whisper and rocks all the spaces in between, always maintaining intensity and integrity. The Austin Chronicle writes, "Austin's Bruce Smith Band impresses, ...his songs bring together a wide-screen view that defies his youth." Bryan Beck of KGSR Austin says Bruce Smith is a "great singer/songwriter,: and Austin agent extraordinaire David Cotton observes that "Bruce Smith is the fastest rising star at the Saxon Pub since Los Lonely Boys.” His last album, “1000 Horses,” was released to excellent reviews, and his monumental “59 Stratocaster” - a Buddy Holly tribute tune - is destined for film scores.
